We Need Help

We are 100% Privately Funded

What does that mean? Our operation couldn’t help thousands of dogs every year without support from our volunteers and donors. As a private rescue, we don’t qualify to collect State funding to pay for vet bills, transportation costs, dogfood or even staffing.

So when you donate to For the Sake of Dogs, rest assured that your money is going to pay for something vital in the organization that directly benefits our dogs in need. In addition to our rescue efforts, we offer dogs considered unadoptable a lifetime of care and love in our sanctuary. Some require daily medications or suffer from physical and/or mental traumas that deem them unadoptable. Your contribution, no matter how small, helps ensure these dogs have quality of life, too.

While cash donations allow us the freedom to provide what is needed most at the rescue, we understand it’s not always possible to give. There are still a variety of ways you can help For the Sake of Dogs’ mission by donating your time and talent or by simpy shopping on Amazon for day-to-day items!

Cash Donations

Volunteer

Volunteers who donate their time to pick up dogs in need, transport dogs to the vet or man adoption events are incredibly important to our daily operation. We have volunteers who also offer their talent when it comes to promoting our mission to the public through social media, taking photos of available dogs and writing bios for the website.
We DO train our volunteers who man adoption events and ask that you commit to a regular schedule for at least a year. We understand life can interrupt the best-laid plans, so if you can help once a month or once a week, we appreciate your commitment.

Donate Items to our Wish List

Caring for baby, adult and elderly dogs takes alot of resources! Our wish list are items we go through like hotcakes, and we can never get enough of! Our Wish List is at the bottom of this web page. You can drop donations off the Clovis or Fresno PETCO. Just leave them in the bin at the front door labeled “Donations”. The store managers are awesome at making sure we get the items when we arrive at our next Adoption Weekend.
